New Braunfels

Background image

Deep in the heart of the Texas Hill country lies beautiful New Braunfels. Founded in 1845 by German settlers, New Braunfels is overflowing with old world heritage and small town charm. Come visit our city with a Walking Tour, take in our great New Braunfels Museums, Historic Districts in New Braunfels, and Performing Arts in New Braunfels.

Experience a mix of quaint architecture and modern fashion while exploring the shopping scene in downtown New Braunfels, relax in the Gruene Historical District, or join in on any of Greater New Braunfels Activities and exciting events. Our city is world famous for its water recreation and activities on our two pristine rivers, so why don’t you come take a swim, tube float, or kayak adventure? Our river outfitters are standing by to make sure you have a safe, fun time.

New Braunfels Live Music Can’t Be Beat – The nights come alive with live music in New Braunfels, where you will find a variety of concerts happening every day of the week throughout the city, and in nearby Gruene. Check out our live music blog to keep up on the latest happenings.

Award-Winning New Braunfels Farmers Market – The cooler months are a perfect time to visit the New Braunfels Farmers Market, which is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine! Each market features live music, fresh produce, and hand-crafted gifts from vendors local to Comal County.

People tend to have so much fun here, that visits usually include plans to reserve a hotel in New Braunfels. We offer thousands of rooms for business travelers, tourists and winter Texans. Accommodations of all sorts are available, from quaint B&Bs to posh resorts, historic hotels, and major international chain hotels. We also have a fine stockade of campgrounds and RV parks for those seeking a more rustic slumber. There’s room for everyone here!

The Craft Beer Trail takes you on a beautiful journey through the Hill Country, full of river crossings, fields of wildflowers, and steep rolling hills. Trail options range from close-by to as far away as Fredericksburg. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the Hill Country’s most notable scenic attractions, such as legendary Luckenbach, TX, and the steep hills of the “Devil’s Backbone” on historic – and supposedly haunted – FM32. Once you make your way home to New Braunfels, we suggest an evening at one our three breweries and watching the sun set over the Comal River with a fresh, local beer.
Catch a movie and make holiday memories with a magical night at the Stars and Stripes Drive-in Theatre. Click here to find upcoming events and theatrical releases.

Texas Ski Ranch – This 70-acre action sports complex is a thrill a minute, with wakeboarding, skateboarding, water skiing, and paintball – plus a 15,000-sq.-ft. trampoline park! Take your adventure to the next level, or just stop by to shop or dine. Open year round.

Adventures Abound, Above and Below Ground – There are so many exciting adventures awaiting your whole family! Keep cool and make a splash at one of America’s top-rated water parks, Schlitterbahn Water Park & Resort. Hop in the car and head just south of the city for a real drive-through safari at Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, or get up-close with exotic animals and creepy crawlies at Animal World Zoo & Snake Farm. The trip gets even cooler when you take a tour of the perpetually temperate Natural Bridge Caverns. Finally, science buffs of all ages will love the space and dinosaur exhibits at Spacetime Park.
